We will be referencing a historical event that we discussed in our first post about Stonington. If you missed it, you can view it here: https://meghanhirst27.wixsite.com/my-site/post/stonington-point-ct-part-1-history.


In addition to the plaque in Stonington Point, this area honors American soldiers who fell during an assault by British soldiers in the War of 1812. The monument was built between two cannons that citizens utilized to fortify the town. The cannons were refurbished in 2010 and again in 2018.
