Did the words "Taylor Swift" catch your attention? We saw a photo of her and what we think is one of the owners when we visited this store. We also saw a mansion that she owns—it is a short distance away from this tiny destination We actually do not listen to her music, but it was still amazing to discover that a celebrity was in this store and has a piece of property in this location!
We encountered something else that was just as exciting: two Scottish tourists :D They were asking how to get to the beach, which is located right on the outskirts of Watch Hill (It is so close, in fact, that you can hear the waves <3). Unfortunately, we were unable to answer their question, as we did not know how either. We love the UK and want to visit every region there someday (I especially want to visit England <3).
A man and woman named Roger and Jean Hall opened The Candy Box in 1955. During this decade, it was known as a penny candy store. The term "penny candy" is exactly what it sounds like: each type of candy cost only one penny (It is hard to imagine a time when anything was that cheap!) Since this store sells classic sweets, it is like stepping through a time portal :O Other than fudge, you can buy products such as pecan turtle clusters, malted milk balls, saltwater taffy, chocolate truffles, rock candy, gummy worms, and jellybeans.

The history of Misquamicut is next!
What is your favorite kind of classic candy and/or fudge? I love gummy peach rings and any kind of sour candies :D
