This attraction closed in the 1960's, but it is still worth mentioning because something big is coming! Read until the end to find out what it is.
The Strand Theatre has been in Lambertville since 1915. It was built by two men named Charles C. Hildinger and Philip Papier. Hildinger became the owner. During its operation, it was a movie theater as opposed to a performing arts theater like the one in New Hope, PA (If you missed that post, follow this link: https://meghanhirst27.wixsite.com/my-site/post/new-hope-pa-part-2-bucks-county-playhouse.). The business was super successful; people flocked here!
A nearby hardware store used the structure as a warehouse up until late 2020. After it was cleaned out, a huge renovation began. It will reopen as Strand Arts: An Enterprising Art House in spring 2023 :D The owner will be an artist right in Lambertville named Kelly Sullivan. The building will be both a visual and performing arts center. To learn more about the new brand and the artist, visit strandartsnj.com and kellysullivanfineart.com.
Blue Raccoon Home Furnishings is next!
What was the last movie you saw at the movie theater?
