Was called the Wolfeborough Railroad Station when it was built.

The Wolfeboro Railroad Station is a refurbished building that was originally constructed in 1872. It is now the headquarters of the Wolfeboro Visitor's Center and the Wolfeboro Chamber of Commerce. The station attracts a lot of attention, and it is easy to see why! My favorite thing about it is the dated signage. Wolfeboro as a whole has a very old-fashioned air to it.
The railroad spans for twelve miles and was owned by numerous operating companies throughout the years. The Boston and Maine Railroad company, which we mentioned in a previous post, had it from 1884 to the 1960s. The railroad closed in 1985 when the State of New Hampshire bought it. So that means no train rides here unfortunately :(
If you want to learn more, Wikipedia has a great article about the history of this destination.
Do not forget to pick up a brochure if you go inside the station! You can find them in both the Visitor's Center and the Chamber of Commerce. They contain maps, shops, hotels, restaurants, and more. As always, reviews are available on sites like TripAdvisor, TripBuzz, and Google.
Dining in Wolfeboro, NH and Gilford, NH is next!
