Some of the many trails in this village.

We included some details about the nature trails at Whitesbog in part 1. Please read it here if you have not already: https://meghanhirst27.wixsite.com/my-site/post/whitesbog-village-part-1-history. It is important because the trails are a little different. If you missed the sign for the Blueberry Trail, you can view it here: https://meghanhirst27.wixsite.com/my-site/post/whitesbog-village-part-2-cranberry-bogs-and-blueberry-fields.
My mom and I have actually never been on this bridge. We took a circuitous route to get to the blueberry field that is depicted in part 2. My mom had to photograph it because we both love finding tiny bridges during our walks XD
The first bog trail is adjacent to the Blueberry Trail. We enjoy seeing the tiny islands that are stretched out in the middle of the bog. I remember commenting on them the first time I was here (my mom discovered this place first).
The second bog trail is where my mom took the photo that became popular in the Pine Barrens Facebook group (see part 2) :D There are no islands in this area—just a clear space where you can get an amazing view of the horizon.
The pine barrens trails are ideal if you are unfamiliar with this ecosystem want to explore it. It really is a one-of-a-kind environment. Check out Just in Jersey's overview of the barrens on YouTube if you want to get a live look! I recently showed it to one of my friends in England and he was fascinated by it :D
The Watershed Institute is next!
