Connecticut Magazine has hailed Dog Watch Café as one of the greatest restaurants in Stonington. For this reason, it is a local hangout spot and major tourist attraction. We have been here several times and it was bustling each time! Reservations are highly recommended since it is so popular. If you are still taking extra COVID-19 precautions, you can eat in the front porch dining area or in the back of the building where there is dockside seating.

Dog Watch Café specializes in seafood and traditional American cuisine. They also serve some Italian and Mexican cuisine. Some of their most delicious dishes are the surf and turf (best steak I have ever eaten!), lobster ravioli, risotto with scallops and mushrooms, and pasta with chicken. They actually invented a new dish! It is called chimari and it is comprised of chicken with cherry and banana peppers (very spicy!), southwest sauce, and pico de gallo :O

The reservation and full menu links are on the restaurant's website Dogwatchcafe.Com. There is an interesting history behind the origin of their name on there as well.

We will be discussing this restaurant's special dog rescue fund next!
