Quechee State Park, VT - Part 3 Trails

Updated: May 29, 2022

The best trails in this park according to the website AllTrails.

The Quechee Gorge Trail has 4.2 out of 5 stars on AllTrails. It is undoubtedly the most hiked trail in the park. You can view the entire gorge from this one! It spans 2.7 miles and is fairly simple to traverse (there are some steep hills). Other than hiking, it is ideal for jogging and birdwatching. Very important note: make sure you have boots with traction if you go on this trail during winter. It gets very icy.

The Quechee Gorge Dewey Pond Trail also has 4.2 out of 5 stars on AllTrails. You can get a good view of the Ottauquechee River from this one. It stretches for 1.4 miles and is a little harder to get through due to a really steep hill. It is suitable for fishing and birdwatching as well as hiking. Same very important note: it gets really icy during winter like the gorge trail, so you need boots with traction.

Additional notes about both trails: since this is an extremely popular travel destination, the trails are often crowded. There is less foot traffic after 4 PM. Walking dogs on leashes is permitted. If you have a chubby dog that is on a weight loss journey, these trails are perfect!

Pine Hill Park (also in Vermont) is next!

What is your favorite park trail?
