We will be presenting the history of Lambertville, New Jersey in multiple parts because there is a lot!

This town was founded in 1703, but did not get its first inhabitant until 1705. This was a man named John Holcombe. He constructed a stone house in 1724 that later became a historic landmark, as Washington and his army made it their headquarters during the American Revolution. In 1732, Lambertville and New Hope were deemed Coryell's Ferry by a man named Emanuel Coryell who owned a ferry business. A family with the surname Lambert moved to the area shortly afterwards. They established a post office and changed the town's name to Lambert's Ville in 1810. By 1849, it was known as Lambertville and had more than one-hundred buildings as well as over one-thousand residents :O The growth continued from there. Modern day residents of the town have preserved the Victorian architecture, namely the members of the Lambertville Historical Society. We encourage you to read more about this fascinating town on their website!

The Lambertville Station Restaurant and Inn is next!

Have you been to any beautiful towns in the U.S. or another country?
