Heritage Park was founded around 2000. The sign is located right across from The Moth Coffeehouse. The entrance is tucked into a corner past the restaurant and shops. To reach it, turn left while facing the sign then continue down the sidewalk until you come to a wooded area. There are a series of nature trails that lead to the middle of the park—a wide-open area with a circular blacktop path, single benches, and clusters of trees. Since there is so much space, it is perfect for running, biking, walking dogs, pushing strollers, picnicking, and flying kites. It is especially ideal if you have children who love to frolic!
My mom and I believe that the nature trails are the best feature of the park. We definitely recommend them if you enjoy the woods like we do! My favorite part is the entrance. The transition from a small village to an area with foliage is really neat. It is also unexpected because you would not think that a park would exist right inside a village!
Something to remember: the middle of the park is close to farmland. Do not go too far down the dirt path near the blacktop to avoid trespassing.
