Late March through late November is the best time to spot wildlife and plants in this meadow.

Like the Aquetong Meadow, the South Meadow used to be a forest and is being cautiously monitored and conserved. The habitat was transformed in 1998.
There are approximately 105 types of grasses and wildflowers here. I did not know there were that many species of grasses here in the U.S. :O Additionally, there are four types of trees. Due to the variety of plants, this area attracts many kinds of wildlife.
My mom receives newsletters from the preserve every year because she has a Family Membership. We were thrilled to read that it has been doing better this year. One of the major accomplishments was forming a partnership with the Philadelphia Flower Show. This is a HUGE annual event that takes place in Pennsylvania. There are typically 500,000+ visitors each year! :O
The Green Labyrinth is next!
Have you ever been to a flower show and/or garden event?
